Holly And The Skyboard by Ian Whybrow
Holly wishes she had a skateboard, but her parents can't afford to buy her one. Her spoilt cousin Richard had a super-duper expensive skateboard and on Holly's seventh birthday he brings it round to show off. But Richard doesn't know about old Mr Windrush fom next door - he has a special surprise to give Holly's birthday a fantastical lift and Richard the comeuppance he deserves. Ian Whybrow has also written "Quacky Quack-Quack!", which was shortlisted for the 1991 Smarties Book Prize, and "Time Sailors". Tony Kenyon has also illustrated "Jam for Tea" and "Gordon in the Garden".
