The book gives a grounding in anatomy, covering the key areas from the artist's viewpoint. Starting with an introduction to the history of the study of anatomy for art, the book then provides a list of materials and equipment that are used in anatomical drawing and painting. The next chapter explains the basic structures of the human body and how the underlying parts go together to create the superficial human appearance.
