This book, written by a twice Badminton champion, is aimed at the aspiring horse trials rider. The author aims to cover all aspects of the sport, she explains what is involved in the various levels of competition, the fitness and feeding of the event horse. She also outlines the various training programmes required for each phase of the competition. There is advice on what to do at both one and three day events, and how to assess the fences and the course - and on how to learn from mistakes. A chapter on hints and tips gives answers to all sorts of problems faced by any event rider, from flatwork to travelling, from tackling tricky fences to veterinary care.
