Engaging Preschoolers in Mathematics Reviews

This is a must-have book for all early childhood educators! White and Dauksas do a seamless job addressing practical strategies and solutions to help teachers of young learners embed authentic mathematical learning approaches into learning centers, daily activities, and routines. They make a strong case for incorporating various math concepts through in-depth lesson plans, children's literature, and tips to engage families for extending math at home. This book should be part of every teacher's reference library.

-Amanda Montes, Early Childhood Educator, M.Ed.

Dr. White and Dr. Dauksas have written a book that brings research into the classroom: Engaging Preschoolers in Mathematics is filled with useful knowledge as well as real world examples that are applicable to classrooms. The inclusion of center designs using common materials brings attainability to all the mathematical concepts in any early childhood setting, and the authors have reduced the planning time necessary for teachers by allowing for examples of each concept by center.
