Using Statistics in Sport and Exercise Science Research Summary

Using Statistics in Sport and Exercise Science Research by Joanne L. Fallowfield

The highly readable "Using Statistics in Sport and Exercise Science Research" has been written for the student of sport science, exercise science, sport studies, leisure studies, physical education, sports therapy, or related fields of enquiry. Conducting research can be both an exhilarating and a frustrating experience, where the quest for new answers and new explanations of phenomena may easily and unwittingly be confounded by inadequate planning and avoidable errors. This timely text describes the processes involved in identifying a worthwhile and answerable research question, formulating hypotheses, designing a research study, collecting-organising-analysing-evaluating data, drawing conclusions, and finally presenting work to the scientific community. This user-friendly book demystifies statistics, helping the reader to develop confidence in the research process.
