Case Presentations in Respiratory Medicine by John A. Elliott
This text is intended primarily as a revision aid for postgraduates sitting higher examinations. It is also aimed at practising physicians who want to update their knowledge of treating lung disease. The case histories forming the first part of the book are each followed by questions which test diagnostic ability and competence in the planning of further investigations and clinical management. They have all been encountered in clinical practice over a period of three years in a district hospital setting and the emphasis is on common problems, pitfalls and recent developments. The second part of the book is an answer section where each diagnosis is treated to a brief critical review. In most cases key references have been appended to the text for those wishing to pursue a particular issue in greater depth.
