Grandparent Poems Summary

Grandparent Poems by John Micklos

Grandparents may tell stories, knit, garden, bake, or even yodel, and in doing so they act as teachers and role models for their grandchildren. Grandmothers and grandfathers bridge the generations, linking the past with the future; and they form a close, loving bond with their grandchildren that endures beyond life itself. In this companion book to Mommy Poems and Daddy Poems, poet and anthologist John Micklos has collected twenty-two poems that depict the fun, generosity, and companionship that grandparents provide. Poems by Lee Bennett Hopkins, Jeff Moss, Jane Medina, Nikki Grimes, and Mr. Micklos himself honor the love and strength that grandparents bring to their families.
