This is a report of one of the largest non-profit scandals in recent history. Using the American charity United Way as an example, the book discusses the danger of applying "profit" business practices to the non-profit sector, and examines the roles of non-profit boards of directors and subsidiary organizations, and internal checks and balances of non-profit organizations, many of which were abused in United Way's case.
