Summary

This text seeks to describe fully the place of deception in warfare. Jon Latimer demonstrates how simple some tricks have been, but also how technology has increased the range and subtlety of what is possible, for example, using bogus radio traffic and virtual images.

Deception in War Summary

Deception in War by Jon Latimer

Deception has been an integral part of warfare since Troy accepted a wooden horse from the Acheans, but it has generally been looked on as the ruses de guerre of cunning individuals rather then an essential component of the command skills necessary for success. This book is the first to describe fully the place of deception in warfare.

Deception in War Reviews

"'There is required for the composition of a great commander...an element of legerdemain, an original and sinister touch, which leaves the enemy puzzled as well as beaten.' Winston Churchill."
