FLOWERS IN WATERCOLOUR by Judith Milne
This book begins by teaching the basics of working with watercolour before concentrating upon more specific skills necessary for accurate represential work, including the art of colour mixing and a knowledge of the botanical formation of plants and flowers. The book explains the processes of working through preparatory sketches, linear and tonal studies to the finished painting, but there is also a chapter included open working more freely. Each of the plants, including wild flowers, fruits, berries and shrubs, are illustrated with a description of how it was undertaken. Information is also included on where to view collections of the paintings of both past and present watercolour flower artists.
