The Long Sleep: Young People and Suicide by Kate Hill
This is an exploration of the origins, symptoms and meanings of young peoples' suicidal crises. With an increasing number of people under 25 commiting suicide, this book looks at who the casualties are and considers why proportionately more young men than women resort to suicide. It combines accounts from bereaved relatives and young attempters with the evidence of research into the subject to make explicit the need for sensitive responses and improved understanding if current rates of youth suicide are to be curbed.
