Walks and Rambles in Westchester and Fairfield Counties Summary

Walks and Rambles in Westchester and Fairfield Counties: A Nature Lover's Guide to 36 Parks and Sanctuaries just North of New York City by Katherine S. Anderson

This collection of gentle walks just north of New York City was enthusiastically received when first published in 1986. The late Katherine Anderson, an Audubon Society naturalist, spent 20 years working and walking in these parks and sanctuaries.

In 1992, Peggy Turco updated the descriptions to include new information on ecology, Indian place names, and culture. For this revised edition, she expands the territory from the shorelines of the Hudson River, Long Island Sound, and the woodlands of Westchester County to the Housatonic River, adding six new walks in Fairfield County.
