The cover of this book is deceiving. I took one look and concluded it was a book for cake decorating for children. The content, however, is far from child material. It offers a comprehensive list of tools and materials required for decorating wedding cakes. There is a recipe for making the basic modelling paste and how to achieve the shapes needed to make the various grooms and brides. What makes this book appealing is that it provides instructions on making brides and grooms from different racial groups, be it black, white, Indian or coloured. It also caters for a Chinese bride and groom and a mature bridal couple, a country couple, blushing bride, romantic groom, sweet bride and a traditional bridal couple. Any cake decorator or a home industries caterer for weddings would do well to have this small but useful book on hand.
