KRISTIAN COATES ULRICHSENis Deputy Director of the Kuwait Research Programme on Development, Governance and Globalisation in the Gulf States, based at the London School of Economics and Political Science. He holds a PhD from the University of Cambridge, and his research focuses on the history and politics of the Arabian Peninsula and Iraq.
