Pita-Ten Summary

Pita-Ten: v. 4 by Koge-Donbo

It is discovered that while Kotarou and his classmates were taking the middle-school exams, Misha was taking her own angelic test in order to earn her wings. Unfortunately, Misha fails her exam and the wings are denied her. Kotarou suggests that her failure was due to the fact that her inspiration for taking the test was to please others. Learning that success depends on believing in oneself rather than fulfilling the desire of others, Misha is able to retake her test and earn the angelic wings. Demonstrating her wings and other magical powers, Misha convinces the previously skeptical Kotarou that she is indeed a true angel. This comes as a shock to Kotarou, and he must often prevent Misha from revealing her powers to the world. As for the human kids, they all do well enough on the middle-school exams that they decide to all attempt to gain admission at the prestigious Joudai Middle School. Ten-chan scores the highest on the exam, but he knows privately that his father's illness and resulting financial problems of his family will prevent him from attending Joudai. On the brighter side, Ten-chan is making progress in his endeavor to win the love of the mysterious Shia. Complicating this triumph is the discovery that his friend Kotarou also has a crush on Shia. Also introduced in Volume 4 is the character Shino. This adorable child is orphaned and left in the care of her cousin Kotarou. Her fear of abandonment leads to many misadventures. Most interesting is Shia's interest in the young girl. Shia's mysterious origin is hinted at when she and telepathic cat, Nyaa, plan the kidnap Shino and remove her from outside the Human Realm.
