Essential Care Reviews

'The issue of care serves as a critique of the agonizing situation of our civilization, but it also services as an inspiring principle for a new paradigm of living together. This is what I propose to present in this book. I dream of a world that is still to come, a world where we will no longer need electronic devices to overcome our solitude and fulfil the human essence of care and kindness. I dream of a globalized society, in the great common home of the earth... of a world in which care has been recognized as a fundamental ethos of the human being and as an indispensable compassion for all beings of creation.' '...Boff challenges the Western political and religious establishment with an honest assessment and insightful analysis of the issues. Readers familiar with his early work as a leading Brazilian Liberation theologian will be fascinated to see how he has broadened his agenda in new creative directions.' Marcella Maria Althaus-Reid, Professor of Contextual Theology School of Divinity, University of Edinburgh
