Lisa Appignanesi was born in Poland and grew up in France and Canada. A novelist an writer, she is former deputy director of the Institute of Contemporary Arts in London, chair of the Freud Museum and deputy president of English PEN. In 2013 Lisa Appignanesi was awarded the OBE.
