The Person-Centred Approach Summary

The Person-Centred Approach: A Contemporary Introduction by Louise Embleton Tudor

In this essential text, the highly regarded Temenos team present a new introduction to the person-centred approach for the Twenty-first-century. Giving a broad and unbiased account, they illustrate how the approach has developed since the death of Carl Rogers and explore how the person-centred philosophy can be an effective working model for both counselling and psychotherapy and for understanding, living and working in a complex contemporary world. The Person-Centred Approach is essential reading for trainees, whether new to counselling or more experienced, and is a vital resource for practitioners wishing to keep at the forefront of the latest developments in the field.

The Person-Centred Approach Reviews

'..a wonderfully fresh take on some of the old nuggets of PC theory as well as developing the approach into newer areas. The authors are to be very warmly congratulated for this major new contribution to both British and international writing on and from within the PCA.' - Ian Carty, Department of Social, Community& Health Studies, University of Hertfordshire 'There is a lot of material being published on the person-centred approach, and it is heartening to discover in this title a focus on the application of the person-centred approach to a variety of settings and relationships.' - Richard Bryant-Jefferies, Healthcare Counselling and Psychotherapy Journal 'This is an impressive and very wide ranging introduction to the Person Centred Approach. It not only introduces the approach but adds new dimensions to the theory and new extensions of it into practice, reaching well beyond the counselling room walls.' - www.counsellingresource.com
