As if by magic my eldest child gravitated towards this book and declared it was her favourite of a set of books I had be sent to review. Together we wondered about why this book appealed to her- I like the squirrel!...he is busy like me and has lots of friends!' Indeed she is busy but I think this book resonated with her on a deeper level - whilst her friendship group is currently settled it has not always been this way. She often will think with me about friendships and how to let friends down gently when she wants to play with somebody new or on her own. About Lucy Barnard

LUCY BARNARD is a published author, creator, and a freelanceillustrator specialising in children's books. She grew up in a very artistic family and knew from an early age that she wanted to work in illustration. After graduating from the University of Plymouth with an illustration degree, Lucy worked in publishing for a time, before becoming a freelance illustrator and realising her ambition of working on children's books.
