About M. McGillivray

MARK MCGILLIVRAY is Research Chair in International Development at the Alfred Deakin Research Institute. His previous positions include Chief Economist of the Australian Agency for International Development and Deputy Director of the World Institute for Development Economics Research of the United Nations University. Mark's research interests include aid allocation and effectiveness, measuring multidimensional well-being achievement and international inequality in well-being

INDRANIL DUTTA is currently a Brooks World Poverty Institute Lecturer in Economics at the University of Manchester. Prior to this he was a Research Fellow at the World Institute for Development Economics Research of the United Nations University. His primary research interests are mainly in the area deprivation and inequality. His papers have been published in the Journal of Health Economics, Economica and Mathematical Social Sciences

DAVID LAWSON is a Lecturer at The Institute for Development Policy and Management and senior research fellow/faculty associate with The Chronic Poverty Research Centre (CPRC) and Brooks World Poverty Institute (BWPI), University of Manchester. He has extensive developing country experience and his research interests are in development economics, but more specifically applied microeconometric analysis, and poverty dynamics, in relation to health and gender. He has published in leading development journals consulted extensively for the World Bank and DFID and is on the WHO Scientific Resource Group on Equity Analysis and Research. He is lead editor of 'What Works for The Poorest: Poverty Reduction Programmes for the Ultra Poor' (2010), Practical Action
