Dreamwork Summary

Dreamwork: Using Your Dreams as the Way to Self-discovery and Personal Development by Maggie Peters

An indispensable book in its field; A highly accessible tool for readers to use individually or in conjunction with workshops and seminars; Includes practical exercises to aid understanding on how to work with archetypes and symbols beyond simple interpretation; This is no ordinary dream book. It contains no glossary of so called 'universal dream symbols' nor does it offer clinical interpretations. Maggie Peters presents a variety of different dreamwork techniques, based firmly in Jungian and transpersonal psychology and developed over the last fifteen years practising as a dreamwork therapist. Dreamwork is a groundbreaking title that holds the key to the door of our personal unconscious world. By using what we find there we can enhance and even rebuild our waking lives. Working with our dreams can relieve the build-up of stress, heal depression, and unlock our creativity. Dreamwork is a sensitive and practical book that will inspire readers to unwrap their dreams and discover a therapeutic tool for effective personal change. Comprehensive practical exercises range from keeping a dream journal to finding your path through a dream's story.

About Maggie Peters

Maggie Peters is a Transpersonal Psychology psychotherapist, accredited with the United Kingdom Council of Psychotherapists. Central to her transpersonal approach is the belief that within every human being there is a source of wisdom that can be tapped by exploring dreams. Maggie has been working with her own dreams for the last 20 years and as a dreamwork therapist for 15 years. She is in private practice in Stroud and Bristol, England, and is the originator of Transformative Dreamwork, which provides workshops, seminars and programmes in personal development, as well as professional training for therapists. Transformative Dreamwork draws upon many sources of inspiration, including psychosynthesis, and the work of C. G. Jung.
