Polymer Chemistry: An Introduction by Malcolm P. Stevens
Polymer chemistry draws upon all the traditional subdivisions of chemistry: organic, inorganic, physical, analytical and biochemical. This is the second edition of an undergraduate text in polymer chemistry and technology. It has been substantially updated in respect of new technology since the first edition. Topics which have increased in importance in recent years have been added; among these are liquid crystal polymers, conducting polymers, thermoplastic elastomers, degradable polymers, and polymer blends. Students interested in polymer chemistry at undergraduate level will find concepts built up from basics, including polymer-forming reactions. It should also serve as an introduction to the field for the industrial chemist with no prior training in polymer chemistry, or as a reference source for the practising polymer chemist.
