Drawing Summary

Drawing: A Sketch and Textbook by Margaret Lazzari

Drawing: A Sketch and Textbook combines essential content from a basic drawing textbook with the ample blank space of a sketchbook so that students can immediately practice what they learn. Divided into three parts-the basics, elements of drawings, and the creative process--this innovative textbook/sketchbook aims to teach students how to draw by actively engaging them in practical projects. Authors Margaret Lazzari, Dona Schlesier, and Douglas Schlesier provide reproductions of student and professional artworks that can serve as inspiration/models and give students the opportunity to create a journal of drawings, ideas, notes, and inspirations, for use now and later. View how-to videos demonstrating key techniques at the book's companion website.

Drawing Reviews

It's like you ripped the pages out of my lesson plans! With this book my students can go over everything that I teach them at any time that they want; they can also use it as a workbook.--Sanita Jetton, University of South Alabama This book is perfectly suited to the way that I teach my class. Students take 'ownership' by following these directions and collaborating with the authors. I would love to use this book in my class!--Susan Urbanek, Palm Beach State College Drawing is very rich in text, imagery, and content. It is a great addition to our classroom learning environment.--Jennifer Hall, Colorado Technical University
