Class, Inequalities and Nursing Practice introduces students to the history of sociological explanations for socio-economic inequalities in health. It explains current interest in the importance of social capital, social support and social exclusion as well as material and lifestyle factors in socio-economic differences in health. It also encourages students and qualified nurses and other health care practitioners to make use of social science analysis and research findings in developing their own practice.
