The New America Summary

The New America: The End of the Beginning and the Rise of the Obama Generation by Mark Little

Look beyond the American presidential election, and you will sense the beginning of a national reinvention. As the United States enter a new era, the age-old pioneering spirit of Americans and the cult of the individual are guiding that transformation, but so too is a combination of ethnic, generational and urban change. Mark Little's central thesis predicts a power shift from the east coast to the southwest of America, based on the stream of population migration in that direction, and explores the challenges ahead, nationally and globally. Now, as Barack Obama's presidential victory has stamped its mark on the political landscape for ever, Little's new edition of this bestseller will come to even more radical and far-reaching conclusions on the changes we all are witnessing.
