Many people feel drawn to basing their prayer on the Scriptures, in particular the gospels. These short reflections attempt to listen to the gospel text on its own terms while showing how it can continue to speak to our church and our world today. The book will appeal to priests in parishes who may wish to prepare a short homily for the weekday Mass, as well as to parishioners who wish to prayerfully reflect on the weekday gospel readings, as well as Lectio Divina groups in parishes. The calendar of the book helps the busy presider, as the reflections are linked to the readings by calendar date rather than the church calendar.
