About Martin M. Zdanowicz

Dr Martin M. Zdanowicz received an M.A. in biology from S.U.N.Y Binghamton in 1985 and completed his Ph.D. in Pharmacology at St. John's University in 1992. After completing his doctorate, he went on to work as a research scientist at North Shore University Hospital-Cornell Medical College in the area of endocrinology & metabolism until 1996. He took a full time faculty appointment with the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences in 1996. He was promoted to associate professor in 2000. Dr. Zdanowicz received the Trustee's Awarded for teaching excellence in 2000 and was Pharmacy teacher of the year at the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences in 2001. His teaching areas included pharmacology, pathophysiology, and biochemistry. Dr. Zdanowicz served as chair of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Director of Graduate Studies from 2002-2004.

Dr. Zdanowicz is currently on faculty at South University School of Pharmacy in Savannah, Georgia where he was voted the Pharmacy Teacher of the Year in 2004, 2006 and 2007. He was promoted to full professor in January of 2008. He currently serves as chair of the School of Pharmacy Assessment Committee, Awards & Scholarship Committee and Promotion Committee. His current research interests include pharmacogenomics, pharmacy curriculum development and pharmacy education. Dr. Zdanowicz currently holds membership in numerous professional societies and has published more than 35 articles and two textbooks.
