Decorative Tin and Wirework Reviews

Mary Maguire, with her Masters degree in metalwork and jewellery at the Royal College of Art, London, brings her considerable expertise to this fascinating handicraft book. Beautifully presented and lavishly illustrated, she demonstrates how easy it can be to create innovative decorations and pretty practical items from these deceptively hard materials. Clear explanation of tools, materials and techniques offers the beginner an easy-to-understand introduction to moulding these mediums. Projects are rated from easy to more complex and list all the materials and tools required to ensure the project is completed with ease. Concise instructions are supported by detailed photographs and templates, guaranteeing the most sceptical an easy passage. Beaded wire coat hangers, candle-holders, wall racks and photoframes, tin Christmas decorations, lights and mirrors are so attractively displayed you will be dashing out to the nearest craft shop to get the materials and have a go yourself. From bending wire, threading beads and embossing metal, the variety of projects is immense and covers all tastes. For anyone with a crafty bent, this book is a must.
