Maryanne Grebenstein established the Abbey Studio in 1982, a professional calligraphy studio that produces hand-lettered documents as well as offering calligraphy courses. The studio also conducts manuscript study trips to museums and libraries in the United States and Europe. Maryanne teaches this ancient craft at the North Bennet Street School in Boston, at MassArt, and as a visiting artists at The Corcoran College of Art & Design in Washington, D.C. In collaboration with Grebenstein, North Bennet is presenting a new, one-semester full-time course in calligraphy, manuscript illumination, and bookbinding. From 2003-2009, Maryanne was a professor at the Massachusetts College of Art, Boston. In 2006 she authored the text book Calligraphy: A course in Hand Lettering, published by Watson-Guptill. Susan Kay-Williams is the Chief Executive of the Royal School of Needlework at Hampton Court. The research carried out out by the RSN is incredibly in-depth, and Susan is in constant demand as a speaker in the UK and internationally, especially in the US and Japan. She lectures part-time for London Metropolitan University and CASS Business School.
