The 1925 Paris "Exposition des Art Decoratifs" heralded the emergence of the Art Deco movement. This work examines the movement's origins, development and influences, observing its mixed and often surprising antecedents: the Arts and Crafts Movement, fin-de-siecle Vienna, Cubism, Expressionism and the Bauhaus.
