Dog and his friend, Bird, have a busy day ahead of them. Planning, digging, hammering and sawing - there's lots of work to be done. But can they finish their job before the sun goes down?
Jarvis' exhuberant illustrations leap off the page and perfectly capture Dog and Bird's excitement about the day of building ahead of them.
I read this to my own son (who like nothing better than digging in my garden) and he loved the rhythm and rhyme of the text as well as the antics of Dog.
I particularly enjoyed the various pieces of health and safety guidance presented within the text. Dog has obviously had his training - 'lift with your legs, not with your back,' anyone?
