This is one of a series of picture books exploring the world of wild animals and their habitats. Focusing on the remarkable variety of wildlife in the polar regions, the book looks at about 40 animals, with basic information supported by fact-boxes and notes on conservation and ecology. The author won the Prix d'Enfantasie for the Best Children's Non-fiction Book ("Exploring the Countryside") at the 1989 Geneva Book Fair.
