This work examines the work of David Lynch, American cult figure and director of such films as Twin Peaks, Blue Velvet, Wild at Heart and Eraserhead. Chion details how the films came about, chronicles the creative interactions between the director and his familiar collaborators and locates the films within their contemporary American context.
