Mij Kelly was born in Scotland but spent her early childhood in India. She studied English at York University, Publishing Studies at Stirling University and has had lots of different jobs from cleaning and lexicography, to collecting oral histories, and journalism. For the past few years, she's enjoyed staying at home and making up stories. Mij lives in York with her son Frankie, dog Otis and boyfriend Dan. Katharine McEwen graduated from Kingston University with a first class honours degree in illustration in 1996. Since then she has been regularly illustrating children's books. She regularly partakes in children's illustration talks and workshops and finds the interaction with the children a great source of inspiration to her work. Katharine lives with her husband in Tonbridge, Kent and commutes to Clerkenwell, London where she has shared a studio for the past 6 years. iThe Man Who Wore All His Clothesr, illustrated by Katherine McEwen, won the Children's Book Award, 2001.
