Portraits of the African Wild by Mike Nicol
This is a photographic journey through the game sanctuaries of southern Africa, showing moments in the lives of elephant, lion, rhino, wildebeest, gazelle, baboon, ostrich and many other indigenous species. In the essays proceeding each photographic theme, and in the preface, the conservation message is emphasized. Unique in its wildlife, southern Africa contains an enormous variety of wildlife in a variety of landscapes. There are the deserts of the Kalahari and Namibia, the Okavango delta, high-veld and low-veld, acacia-dotted Savannah, lush parkland and great rivers.
