WHO AM I COLOURFUL & BRIGHT PARROT by Moira Butterfield
Opening with a simple riddle about a bird, this book, which is one of a series, shows a different part of the its body - first the beak, then the feet, the eye, the tail and so on until the whole parrot is revealed. Further clues to its identity and an insight into how it lives in a hole in a tree trunk are given. A double-page spread with a full colour parrot is labelled with text and a view of its chicks in a nest are shown. The parrot's habitat is the rainforest, a territory shared by a sloth, butterflies, a toucan and a tree boa. To put the location of the rainforest into perspective there is a world map marked with South America. The book concludes with a fun quiz to reinforce information given earlier in the book - such as "how many colours are there on my feathers?"
