Summary
Alix Macfarlane comes from a wealthy home in Adelaide, but chooses a nursing career and goes to work in the outback. When her doctor husband is killed in World War I she brings up her daughter, Caro, alone, hoping thorugh her to fulfil her dreams of bringing medical care to the country.
