Flowers of Youth: Images of Children from the National Gallery by National Gallery of Art
Artists throughout history have produced works capturing the innocence and hope children represent. This volume presents 42 such paintings - from artists including Holbein, van Dyck, Renoir and Mary Cassatt - portraits of children with parents, siblings, playmates, pets and toys. Each picture is accompanied by a poem written for or about children, including favourites from Robert Louis Stevenson and Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.
