This book covers Britain under Roman occupation and describes the Roman army, the conditions in a fort on Hadrian's Wall, what a town and villa looked like, how the Romans built their roads, the development of London, the clothes the Romans wore, the food they ate, their leisure pursuits, the trades and crafts they practised and the gods they worshipped.
