The book includes a theoretical and methodological introduction, followed by individual discussions of Australia and Chile, and New Zealand and Uruguay, grouped a cross-regional pairs, and Ireland as an extra-regional and atypical case.

About P. Buchanan

PAUL G. BUCHANAN is a Senior Lecturer in Politics and Latin American Studies at the University of Auckland and is a recipient of Council on Foreign Relations, Fulbright, Heinz and Tinker Research grants. He is also the author of State, Labor, Capital: Democratizing Class Relations in the Southern Cone.

KATE NICHOLLS is currently completing her PhD in Political Science at the University of Notre Dame. She has previously published articles in the Journal of Iberian and Latin American Studies and Commonwealth and Comparative Politics.
