Christian Lacroix: Diary of a Collection by Patrick Mauries
This title shows the entire process through which a fashion show is made. This starts with two books of collages and sketches and ends with the glamorous catwalk creations. The book is divided into three sections. It opens with a kaleidoscope of images that forms the raw material of inspiration: a medieval shoe, an elaborate 18th century waistcoat and photographs of sixties icons. The second part shows how these disparate images begin to develop and coalesce into the designer's exploratory sketches, while the third section reveals the metamorphosis of the designs into the finished garments.
