Ten years after the death of King Arthur, Budoc now a hermit is disturbed by Irish pirates who are in search of a magic chalice, believed to confer the sovereignity of Britain on its possessor. Only Budoc and a few followers defend it, and amongst them is a girl, of quite extraordinary powers.
