For more than twenty years, C'est la vie has presented France in its own words to generations of American students. The fifth edition remains faithful to the tradition of adapting articles from French magazines and newspapers to reflect current French life and culture. As in the earlier editions, the selections provide the students with a range of up-to-date, and often controversial, topics that serve as a stimulus for classroom discussion. The articles in this edition explore some of the concerns of France in the 1990s.
