Adolescence by Paul Van Heeswyck
Adults tend to see adolescence as a time of unpredictable and selfish behaviour, moodiness, over-sensitivity and touchiness, but also as a special period of hope, possibility and freedom, a phase of high energy, excitement and creativity. This is an exploration of this paradox, aiming to cast light on the problems and the thrill of growing up. Paul van Heeswyk seeks to provide an accessible introduction to psychodynamic development theories, and discusses the tensions and rebellions that can be carried through to adult life.
