Robots are an everyday hazard on the future Earth. The novel's heroes have to hunt Rudy, a rogue robot fortuitously endowed in the front end. Meanwhile, crew member Arnold the Android reaches for his full potential, his fate, the fulfilment of his genius - and runs a presidential campaign.
