The Ffestiniog Paintings of Edward Paget-Tomlinson by Philip D. Hawkins
Edward Paget-Tomlinson produced 37 colour paintings of scenes of the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railways; all of them depict the scene from Victorian times through to closure in 1946. They are historically accurate, great care being taken to be as close to reality in all aspects of the time. EPT used his imagination to show what might have been, by painting an uncompleted electric railway between Beddgelert and the Aberglaslyn Pass. Also included are the painter's pen and ink drawings of the railway and a history of the Ffestiniog Railway written by Adrian Gray, the railway's Archivist.
