Arf and the Three Dogs by Philip Wooderson
Following the chaotic outcome of a simple visit to the shop to buy a newspaper, Arf needs to find something constructive with which to occupy his time. So, he decides to become a journalist. But first he has to come up with a story...and evidence to back it up. Being Arf, this isn't as easy as it sounds and in the end, practically the whole community becomes caught up in his efforts to crack the case - not to mention the cats and dogs at the animal welfare shelter, and Arf's long-suffering family. Arf is a truly great comic character - always in trouble, but so likeable, it's hard to be angry with him for long.
