Susie Cunningham, an attractive twenty four year old freelance photographer, is about to leave for her first holiday on a cruise liner. Driving to Southampton, she is unaware that her last employer, with whom she was having an affair, has been brutally murdered in his apartment. As she was seen at the apartment building around the time of his death, Susie and a young man seen leaving just before she arrived, are now the number one suspects. But despite putting out an all ports call, the police get no response and both suspects seem to have disappeared. What should have been a straight forward case for Detective Inspector Bill Forward soon becomes anything but...How this extraordinary mystery is solved makes a fascinating story which will grip the reader from beginning to end.

About Ray Alan

Born in Greenwich, south east London, Ray Alan entered show business as a teenager. Although starting as a magician, he tried his hand at ventriloquism and went on to create his most successful character, 'Lord Charles.' He holds the record for the greatest number of appearances of any guest artistes on BBC TV's, The Good Old Days. He has written situation comedy for television and two radio series, as well as sketches for Morecambe and Wise and The Two Ronnies. He is now concentrating on his next novel. He lives with his wife, Jane, in Surrey.
