A Market for Murder by Rebecca Tope
Karen Slocombe isn't sure why she visited the supermarket that day - as a committed member of Food Chain Group and a regular stall holder at local farmers' markets, SupaFare is a place she would normally avoid. Luckily for Karen, she leaves moments before a bomb explodes, destroying the front of the store. Only a few days later, whilst manning her stall at Bradbourne Farmer's Market, Karen finds herself in the midst of another horrific crime. Peter Grafton, a fellow stallholder, is murdered in front of her - shot through the neck with a cross bow bolt. When friends from the Food Chain Group start warning Karen not to tell the police certain details, her suspicion is instantly aroused. Could the two events be linked? Are Karen's friends involved? And why is everyone suddenly talking about genetically modified crops?
