Becoming a Master Manager by Robert E. Quinn
This is a revision of a skills based management text that is built around a framework of leadership competency, the competing values model. This theoretical framework integrates four contrasting perspectives on organizing. The four perspectives require managerial leaders to play eight different roles: director, producer, mentor, facilitator, coordinator, monitor, innovator and a broker role. This approach is used as a structure for building managerial skills and guides students through some of the social and intellectual challenges that managers encounter.
